We’ve all seen and/or experienced it. Chronic illness seems to rob us of some of our most treasured friendships. Maybe we simply lack the time to nurture those relationships or that particular friend loses interest in what’s quickly become a complicated and taxing relationship.
How do we maintain lasting, meaningful friendships in the midst of chronic illness?
Today, my dear friend Krystal and I sat down and talked about our friendship.
When did she first begin to have an “aha” moment about just how sick I was? What made her want to stick around? How does she deal with the inevitable disappointment of those last minute cancellation texts I’m always sending? And how can others support the chronically ill in their lives?
